Pregnancy Yoga :
The class combines gentle movement with breath awareness for overall health and well-being during pregnancy. Yoga during pregnancy is a great way to relax, release tension, gain strength, and to connect with your body, your breath and your baby. It can help ease the discomforts of pregnancy and prepare you physically and mentally for the birth of your baby. The focus of the class is to nurture women and promote wellness during pregnancy and into motherhood.
The class also provides an opportunity to meet other mums to be and share experiences at this unique time of life in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The class is suitable for mums to be 14+ weeks into pregnancy and until the day baby arrives! It is suitable for all levels of yoga experience and for all bodies. Many women try yoga for the first time during pregnancy, and it often leads to a lifetime practice! Yoga is completely non-competitive and I invite students to listen to their bodies and to respond to their own bodies’ needs and capabilities.
Pilates is an exercise method which helps to elongate and strengthen muscles, with the aim of restoring the body’s balance. The Pilates instructor’s thorough understanding of the body’s muscular and skeletal systems enables her to create a comprehensive exercise program for her client. Classes focus on specific areas and muscle groups individually and in sequence in order to integrate the whole body, re-educating and restoring it to optimum muscular and skeletal function.
This holistic approach sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Osteopaths, physiotherapists and general practitioners recommend Pilates as one of the safest forms of exercise today. Pilates can be beneficial for just about everyone, regardless of age and fitness level.
Pilates consists of a repertoire of over 500 exercises which can be performed on the mat or on the equipment designed by Joseph Pilates. The exercises are organized into levels of difficulty from basic beginner to advanced and the grading is according to the degrees of core strength and flexibility. Specifically the Pilates method works to strengthen the core, lengthen the spine, increase body awareness, build muscle tone and gain flexibility.
Sunrise, Mid-morning, and Sunset Yoga :
These classes are taught by Jeff (unless he is out of town, in that case, the classes continue with a remarkable replacement !). The classes consist of an eclectic blend of the best elements of an infinite number (x 11) of yoga traditions and styles. To name a few of those styles : Hatha (traditional), Vinyasa (flow), Kundalini (inward focus), Sivananda (classic), and Viniyoga (adaptable). These styles are combined with more modern developments infused with Jeff’s intuition (third eye, Ajna chakra) to create what is most beneficial and joyful at any given moment in class. Classes explore a variety of asanas (postures), movements, pranayama (breathing techniques), mudras (hand positions), sound, and meditation. The only requirement for attendance is a healthy funny bone.

Chair Yoga :
Taught by Bairbre Crowley who facilitated Chair based yoga for many years while teaching at the ‘Exhale Yoga Studio’ in Sandymount in Dublin. It was one of her favourite classes to lead and a wide range of students attended, from fit and healthy to those with challenging body limitations.
Chair Yoga is for everyone but especially for those who find it difficult to move up and down from the floor and transition to and from yoga postures.
Yoga is inclusive and Chair Yoga helps to reinforce this, it is suitable for everybody from those new to yoga practice, to those experiencing limitations in mobility or flexibility, to those simply wishing to focus on a gentle practice.
In this practice, postures are performed while seated and/or standing with the support of a chair.
Chair yoga has many benefits including: increased flexibility, muscle strength and tone, energy, and vitality. It improves cardiovascular and circulatory health.
Also included are breathing techniques which focus the mind to bring the practice fully and presently into the moment.
